Every year Russ wants to go to Dworshak to go boating. I think the last time we went was when Jared was on his mission in 2010? We might have gone once since then? Anyway, we rented some of the smaller cabins and our good friends the Rice's came & Lindsey and Jared's family met us there. We had a great time and the weather was perfect!
Our family has such fond memories of going there for Larsen reunions. We've been there several times on our own. I'd LOVE to see another Larsen Reunion there!
Tytyn's first time up on two skies! He was SO excited, but not quite as excited as his dad and papa!!

We're SO happy Lindsey's family and Jared and Maren could come. I know its a long drive, especially for Jared and Maren, but we loved being with them.
Tyli is getting so big! Look at those rolls on her thighs...SO cute!
The past week Russ and I have done two hikes. The first was Marmot Pass. We've done this one before and its really beautiful. That day the clouds were socked in though and we had NO views. There were a lot of wild flowers in bloom though.
The second was yesterday. This was a new hike for us. We went to Bearhead Mountain and Summit Lake. About a mile into the trail, it comes to a T and you can go right or left. Of course Russ thought we should do both trails since we were there and its a 2 hour drive each way. The last 5 miles the road is horrible and it takes 30 minutes just to drive that leg!! I have to say though that some of the best views of Mt. Rainer were on this hike!!
Summit Lake where we ate lunch.
By the time we arrived home my phone said I'd hiked/walked almost 14 miles, 225 floors & close to 36,000 steps! I was so tired and still am. The hike we did last week was close to that too. I'm definitely NOT as young as I use to be and get tired quicker. I am grateful that I can still get out and see some of God's beautiful creations and handiwork though!!
Washington really is a beautiful State!!
Great pictures!! What wonderful scenic shots from your hike. Tyli is getting so big!! Glad everyone had a great time at Dworshak.
ReplyDeleteWe have a lot of happy memories from Dworshak also but it is such a long drive to get there. The pictures of Mt. Rainier are gorgeous. i can't believe all the steps and elevations you hiked. I can't ever remember hiking distances like that except the few times we did Timp. Enjoy your legs while they'll do that!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Dworshak was uper fun! Wish we could have been there to see you! The photos from your hikes are super gorgeous!

Dworshak does hold a lot of fun memories. I honestly don't know how you do those killer hicks. I don't think I could do those when I was younger. You will miss beautiful Washington if you move from there. Your pictures are amazing.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous hikes! That Tyli just couldn't be cuter!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful hike! I totally think we should do another Dworshak trip/reunion! We went boating with some friends this week and David wanted to try water skiing, but they didn't have small skis. It looks like you had a great time with your kids!
