Russ would like to keep his dental license for a few years, so we went to Vancouver, Canada to do some Continuing Education. It only takes 4-5 hours to drive there from our house.
We were fortunate enough to get a nice hotel on the 31st floor, with two whole walls of windows from the floor to the ceiling. We had a lovely view of the city, ocean and mountains.
One of the days Russ was in class I decided to walk to the World of Science. A couple of blocks from our hotel you can walk along the sea wall all the way to the Science Center. I walked close to 7 miles & should have worn more comfortable shoes!
The IMAX theater is suppose to be the largest in the world. I watched a true story about a young Englishman who goes to the Amazon to study insects and the changes they make over the years. The other one I saw was, "A Beautiful Planet". I really liked this one. It was about 3 astronauts from Russia, Italy & the USA who go to the space station and live there for 6 months. It showed some great footage of the earth and what it looks like during a thunderstorm, at night with all the lights on & the billions of stars in our galaxy. I enjoyed watching how they had to exercise 2 1/2 hours a day to keep their muscles toned up & how they celebrated Christmas there.
On my way back to our hotel, the closer I got, the more my right foot just above my heal hurt. By the time I got to our room, I could barely walk. I texted our good friend John, who is a podiatrist and ask him about my foot. He said it sounded like Plantar fasciitis!! Wow, wasn't expecting that! He gave me some suggestions on what to do & within 2 days my foot was back to normal. He told me to watch it now, because it could come back!!

Russ finished his classes Saturday by noon. We checked out of our hotel and headed to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. It has a 450 ft. span
We were here back in 1996 with Sherrie and Dave's family!! How time flies...
Memorial Day Weekend 1996
Crystal and Kristy
This was the trip where these two cousins bonded and started writing each other and eventually became roommates at BYU-I!!
Jacob-3 and Jared-5
They've done away with a lot of these cute Indian statues and the park is SO different.
Cliffwalk-this is new
They have built smaller suspension bridges all over that you can walk from tree to tree. Our kids would have loved this when they were younger.
On Tuesday I woke up and my back had gone out!! I've had this happen one other time, about 10-12 years ago after playing racquetball. I ended up being flat in bed for 2 days. I know several things lead up to it. I felt really bad because I was suppose to fly to Utah on Wednesday to help Lindsey out with her kids. I knew there was NO way I could go. I so appreciate my faithful husband serving me those days. I'm grateful for good friends who came to help give me a blessing and bring me flowers. I'm grateful for my sister Delina who filled in for me and watched Lindsey's kids!
By day 3 I could get up, but took it easy and by Friday I couldn't believe how much better I felt.
It seems like trials always come at the same time. Along with my health issues our refrigerator died, our faucet had a leak and was starting a lake under the sink and we received a phone call today from a policeman at our home in Ivins telling us a pipe had burst from one of our pool pumps and was flooding our neighbors yard!! Life is good!

Happy Family:)
Jacob, Janette, Zayne & Janette's sister & husband arrived here Friday to attend a wedding reception for one of their former roommates. I'm thankful I could be here to visit with them, even if it was a short visit.
Precious boy!!

Even though I've had a few health issues the past couple of weeks, it makes me appreciate even more the good health I have. I pray I will always use it to do good, be more sympathetic, serve others & not take it for granted:)
I am so sorry that you had health problems while you were traveling. These moments really make us appreciate when things are all functioning well. I can't believe you found those old pictures! Haha! Those pictures brought back good memories.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're feeling better! It seems like forever ago and we took that trip to Canada, but I remember it being so much fun. The pictures of Jacob and jeanette and zayne are adorable!!
ReplyDeleteIt's good I check your blog from time to time. We wouldn't know where you were or what was happening. So sorry to hear about the health issues. I've struggled with plantar fasciitis for years but since my knees are so bad now I don't even think about how bad my feet hurt. Enjoy your health while you're young (er)! Love you so much, dear sister.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are feeling better! Those pics of Jacob's family are so adorable! And that trip to Canada seems like forever ago!
ReplyDeleteOuch! So glad you are doing better. I can't believe you are only 4-5 hrs from Canada. I am 4-5 hrs to get out of the state of FL. Zayne is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to 60 Kaylynn. You are lucky you haven't had these health problems sooner and I hope you never get them again. I fought plantar fascists for years. I finally had to have my feet immobilize for 8 weeks so they could heal. But I won't wear a shoe without my arch supports. Bad back is one of my thorns in the side that never go away. The Lindt factor looks great. I can't believe those old pictures. Time goes so fast. Hope you are feeling much better. Sorry about the leaks.
ReplyDeleteFirst, I have to take Adam to see those bridges. He would love it!
ReplyDeletesecond, my father in law lives in Ivins so if you are ever in a predicament Im sure he could help out.
Third, Im so glad that your back healed quickly.
