Two Big Events

This past week Jacob and I drove down to Utah for two big events. The first one was my mom's surprise 80th birthday party. We held it at her ward and it turned out really nice. It was fun to see several of my relatives that I haven't seen in years.

Lindsey, Halter & Delina

Here are 11 of the 17 grandkids of my parents.

Tytyn, Knox & Mason. Three of my parents great grandkids.

My mom's sister, Ute Augat is next to her with her daughter Gina. On my mom's right is my cousin Gordan, who is a twin & this is his family. I think its been 20 years since I've seen them.

While we were in Utah we stayed with John and Jan. What amazing hosts they were and so patient with us. We had family & friends coming and going at all hours and they were so accommodating.
I was so glad I got to hang out with Jan on Saturday. We went shopping and then attended the Draper Temple. What a special day!

On Saturday morning we had our second event we went to Utah for... a bridal shower for Jacob's fiancé, Janette. I really appreciate everyone who came and gave her their support. She got so many fun gifts that she was so excited about. I wanted her to meet our family, especially since they won't have a reception in Utah. She is so sweet and we're so excited to have her become part of our family.

Here's a picture of my immediate family. We haven't had one for quite sometime.

It was a long drive for a short weekend, but well worth the trip!

June

The last couple of weeks we have had some beautiful weather.  One day we hiked Mt. Rose & got a good work out. Another day it was so nice and Russ was off work so we decided to drive the two hour drive each way to Mt. Saint Helens. The wild flowers were just starting to come out. We had lots of good views of the mountain on our drive up there.

On our way home we stopped at this cute little restaurant along the river and had dinner.

Last week Russ had a four day weekend so we decided to take a quick road trip to Lindsey's house in Blackfoot, Idaho. Russ had never seen her house & hadn't seen them since Thanksgiving. Jared drove up and spent a night with us also. It was a fast, but really fun trip!!
I love all their boots lined up in their "mud" room.

In Blackfoot there's a park with a nice trail around a reservoir that's close to two miles long. It was a great place for Tytyn to practice riding his bike & let the kids run around.

Is this a CUTE face or what?

Halter just starting walking a couple of weeks ago & Tytyn was so cute helping him.

We went to Rigby one afternoon to the Family Fun Center.

One morning the crop duster was out and it was so fun to watch them spray the fields. Its amazing how low they go and how close they come to the house and telephone lines.

One evening we went out and tried to get some family photos of the family.

I love to see fathers be affectionate with their kids!

Cute couple!

On our way home we decided to take Hwy 93, a two lane highway. It was definitely longer, but was beautiful! We had fun stopping in some of the small towns & found a few treasures along the way. By the time we got home it had taken us 16 hours!! What a GREAT four day weekend.
